unto us a child is born...

first and foremost, a big warm merry Christmas to all my blog readers. it's been a pretty relaxing holiday so far, as i've hung around and met up with old friends. tonight (err last night) i went to christmas eve service at uac and it was pretty gross. like i mean very gross. the singing was disgusting. and they did joyful joyful exactly the way lauren hill and her choir do it in sister act. i mean i thought i was sister mary clarence there for a while. whoosh. there were times during the service when i just stood there with my mouth wide open, dumbfounded and amazed. definitely by far the best christmas service i've ever been to, period.

anyways, its been quite the year, with a lot of unexpected things coming our way, but i suppose we all learn and grow and by God's grace manage to become a little more like Jesus. As Christmas is upon us, i realize i am a lot more fortunate than others, that i have it a lot easier than others, and probably im a lot more spoiled and selfish than others. Fortunately, God chose to bring the world hope, joy, peace and love that first Christmas morn, and he brings the same to my life today, and everyday. Thus, there is always hope that I will become less and less, and He will become more and more.

no, this Christmas season is not about you. it most definitely is not about me. the only thing we are able to do, the only thing that we are worthy to do, is to make ourselves and our needs and prides smaller and smaller, so that His name and His glory will become greater and greater. welcome, baby Jesus, to our world.

Tears are falling, hearts are breaking
How we need to hear from God
You've been promised, we've been waiting
Welcome Holy Child
Welcome Holy Child

Hope that you don't mind our manger
How I wish we would have known
But long awaited Holy Stranger
Make yourself at home
Please make yourself at home

Bring your peace into our violence
Bid our hungry souls be filled
World now breaking Heaven's silence
Welcome To Our World
Welcome To Our World

Fragile finger sent to heal us
Tender brow prepared for thorn
Tiny heart whose blood will save us
Unto us is born
Unto us is born

So wrap our injured flesh around You
Breathe our air and walk our sod
Rob our sin and make us holy
Perfect Son of God
Perfect Son of God
Welcome To Our World
