waiting?
good sg last night had a discussion about jesus walking on water and a question that was asked was were the disciples in God's will when they were out in the boat? very interesting as all texts have jesus commanding the disciples to go into the boat immediately and cross over to the other side, but when evening comes they're not even there yet, they're just waiting or stalling or something. it also says jesus 'had not come to them yet' implying that maybe they were waiting for him before going.
how often do we do that, receive a very clear command from God but we stall and come up with excuses to wait when its actually very clear what he said. scratch that, how often do I do that.. i think there's some very clear commands that we've been given but sometimes we still sit on the shore waiting for Christ to come and give us a little push or to tell us more clearer.. he's already made it perfectly clear what he wants us to do, sometimes its better to just obey rather than stall and delay and make up excuses that we're just waiting to hear from God to make himself obvious.
