update
It's been a pretty busy past few weeks and I can't even believe Christmas is already here. oops am I allowed to say Christmas? I mean x-mas. i mean holidays. seriously it's getting a bit ridiculous now isnt it? soon there'll be no prayers in school anymore. oh wait.
Anyways 10 random things, cuz 10 is a nice number:
1. so good seeing some wlu ppl last night, i totally miss just hanging out with u guys.
2. tim told me about sufjan stevens and i've been listening to all his stuff this past week, i gotta say its dang good.. some a bit weird but jeez this guy is talented. go check him out..
3. i sprained my ankle at bball on saturday and it's finally healed up now.. i dont think i've ever had it that bad, i literally heard a snap crackle pop when i landed.
4. im gonna go do my cma, starting in january, so hopefully i can study my brains out for that - there go the next 3 years of my life.
5. uac christmas service tomorrow afternoon. c u there.
6. raptors win raptors win! looks like no oden for us, philly is doing everything they can to keep tanking.
7. have a good one at urbana you kids - makes me remember when i went 3 years ago, seems so long ago now. but yeah, asian-american workshop, you single ppl. foserious.

I remember...
...the moment we first met, the way your face shone in the sun
...how we used to cruise around town, so carefree and without worry
...you were always there to see me off to school every morning, and there to pick me up when school was over
...every early morning, you were there with me, no matter the hour
...all those late parties, how like a true friend you would be waiting patiently outside to drag me home
...you were there with me through high school, and you watched me go off to university, and I knew, at that moment, you were proud of me
...you were never judgemental of my friends or who I brought over, it didnt matter who they were, you were always willing to hang out together
...it never mattered what I wore, or what type of baggage I had in my life, you were always there accepting me
...those songs you would sing to me, how beautiful.. and what variety!
But I also remember the hard times...
...when you had that problem, and you were out of control and just couldnt stop, and the doctors took care of you and fixed you back up
...when we got into a fight in that parking garage, and I slammed you into the parking pillar
Alas, I knew our days were numbered. It was as if you had some kind of internal clock, counting each and every moment that passed by.
You have been there in all seasons, like a true friend. One thing I've always admired about you is how you were always so determined, so focused, so... driven.
And so it is, that I say goodbye to you, old friend. You will be much happier in your new home, where they will be able to give you much more attention than I ever gave you. Though the language and surroundings may seem foreign to you, I'm sure you will be fine.

you ever have one of those moments where you stop and think, man what am i doing with my life? and you realize how old you are time is slipping away and how you're still really the same person you were years ago, and you decide its time to start growing up, to take life seriously, no more clowning around. and then you think about it some more and you realize that life is too short to be taken seriously, its probably better to enjoy what you're doing and to find things that make you happy. and then you think some more and realize thinking is too hard, and maybe its better to not think so much in the first place.

fantasy movie league
tonight, i did a fantasy movie league draft. absolutely hilarious concept. they have fantasy everything now. for example, cnn reported on a fantasy congress game earlier this week. i'd join but i dont know US politics. anyways, for the movie league you pick movies for the holiday season (tomorrow until january sometime) and you're scored based on total box office dollars, per theatre avg, weeks in the top 5, and imdb user review (how good the movie is). joe turned some heads when he selected dreamgirls number one overall.

wicked
went to go see WICKED with james tonight, it was absolutely incredible. i'd been wanting to see it for a while since sharon mentioned it last year and made me listen to the soundtrack, not to mention our own lip sync versions of defying gravity :D i'd even gone and downloaded a few performances with idina menzel and kristin chenoweth. but it was nothing like actually being there tonight and seeing it all live - shoshana bean was sensational as elphaba, but my real surprise was megan hilty as glinda, her voice soared unbelievably high and she was hilarious too. definitely recommended, watch it before it's gone!

this was on wednesday - let's see how you'd handle it, consider it a little lesson in workplace etiquette. or maybe just basic manners.
part I:
your work is having a team function where the bosses are buying lunch for everyone. they've decided to go with swiss chalet, and rightly so. it's time to place your order. you go with the...
a) quarter chicken - safe, reliable, dont draw attention to yourself
b) half chicken - hey im a big boy i can eat my fair share
c) southern bbq special - not as greedy as the half chicken, but definitely flashy with the apple/pumpkin pie for dessert
d) salad please
part II:
your meal has come, you're eating away and you notice the director beside you isnt touching his chicken skin. you...
a) eat your skin anyways - who cares, its personal preference!
b) don't eat your skin - he's a director, better look good in front of him
c) kindly ask him if you can have his skin - no point in letting all that skin go to waste, mmmmm
part III:
foolishly you only asked for once sauce. the director hasn't touched his, neither have a few others in the room. you..
a) ration out your remaining sauce and live with dry chicken
b) kindly ask the others, "sauce me" - who cares what they think, you like your swiss sossy!
c) wait til lunch is over, then scrounge around in the garbage for leftover sauces - makes for a great afternoon snack

staying in on wednesday night
for the first time in 4 years, im not at lccf - VERY weird feeling, but hey, it'd be a lot more weird/awkward if i showed up bahaha :D anyways now that summer is over i'm out of my summer schedule and settling into a nice fall routine. im taking an insurance course and had my first class today, not bad. reminds me of uni lectures, just as boring, but a lot easier. our worship team / small group night got pushed to thursdays, which kinda sucks cuz that means imma miss the office (oh well i'll dl it anyways) and shar will miss greys anatomy. so wednesday i'll have nothing to take up my time, any recommendations?

the wire
heard a good recommendation to this show, and ended up watching all of season 1 these past few days. this show is so bloody good, i'm putting it right up there with 24 and the other ones. definitely better than pb, better than csi. seriously its sick. im hooked, gonna dl s2-4 as soon as i can. check it out, its not for everyone but theres a good chance some of you out there will like it.
